Description
AP Racing's J-hook discs are made from top-quality, 48 curved-vane castings. They have been proven to out-perform the OE rotors in better braking response, more positive feedback to the driver and extended disc life. The J-hook pattern is very aggressive, providing extra pad bite. Please note this added performance comes with an increase in pad wear, the amount of which depends on actual usage. It would be normal for these discs to generate louder groaning noises under hard braking since there are so many more leading edges moving across the pad.
The OEM rotors on the new GT-R are a 2-piece floating system. The iron portion of the disc is drilled from the factory, which has proven problematic for those driving their GT-R’s aggressively on the racetrack. Many have seen excessive cracking and premature wear. The drilled OE replacement rotors are also extremely expensive at $1200 per rotor for the front, and $878 per rotor for the rear!
