Cold Air Intake & Short Ram Intake Systems
A high-flow intake replaces the restrictive factory airbox with a freer-flowing tube and high-flow filter — the cheapest, simplest power upgrade for almost any engine. SP Engineering carries cold air intakes (CAI), short rams, ram-air kits and full air-box conversions in CARB-legal, race-only and tuner-friendly configurations.

Cold Air vs Short Ram vs Sealed Box
Cold air intakes (CAI) route air from outside the engine bay — maximum heat isolation, best peak power, but vulnerable to water ingestion. Short ram intakes are simpler and snappier under throttle, but inhale warm engine bay air. Sealed-box / boxed intakes (Cobb SF, aFe Momentum) get the best of both. Reusable cotton (K&N), dryflow (AEM, aFe), and oiled foam (HKS) all have different service intervals.
